Ho Chi Minh City is going to move the Lunar New Year flower festival in February back to its original venue on the pedestrian street Nguyen Hue.
The city said in a statement Tuesday that the flower street will be open for eight days between February 5 and 12, stretching from the central square in front of the townhall to the intersection with Ton Duc Thang Street.
Flower street is one of the biggest events held in the city every Lunar New Year, which next year will peak on February 8. It usually attracted more than one million visitors.
Nguyen Hue had served as the main venue for years but due to construction work the event was moved to Ham Nghi Street earlier this year.
Like in previous years, the street will be decorated with plants, flowers and statues of the zodiac animal of the year, which will be the monkey.
Organizers said there will also be a book street connecting to the flower street.
